I found this comment after watching an episode of The David Frum Show titled “Decline and Fall of the Conservative Mind” (https://youtu.be/0Gyi8r1zExU?si=r6iA2pWgFc9WT5pK), discussing the termination of DOGE and its aftermath, and the conservative commentator William F. Buckley Jr., who owned the Catholic Christian magazine National Review and hosted the public television show Firing Line.

I didn't know anything about Buckley, but after reading the comments on the episode, it's clear that David and his guest (who wrote a biography on Buckley, whom both men knew personally) whitewashed the shit out of Buckley's racism and the role he played in our current ineffectual, incompetent, and morally bankrupt Republican party.

I was pleasantly surprised to find this comment, as Trump's involvement in the Epstein controversy has incited a wave of brainwashed Christian MAGA supporters to dial into every left-leaning call-in show on YouTube and showcase the Olympic-level mental and moral gymnastics they're willing to subject themselves to as they defend the indefensible actions of their Dear Leader. The revulsion I feel at having to witness their cognitive pretzel-making makes a pile of cat vomit look appealing.

So, I thought I would share this anecdote from a fellow viewer who gave me a rare morsel of optimism, however minuscule I know the demographic whom he mentions is among American voters. Enjoy.
