Octopus's Operatory Garden
A few weeks ago, while temping at a dental office, my patient turned out to be an old acquaintance I knew fifteen years and a whole ass lifetime ago. He was a friend of my little brother, and they worked together at a local restaurant. It turns out that it is a small world after all.
As we were catching up, he told me he had recently gone to a Ringo Star concert with his dad and had a fabulous time. Inspired by his story and our recent interaction (which didn't go very well for him, unfortunately), I spent the next week creating this bizarre little art piece.
We were already friends on Facebook, so I checked out his profile for intel. He was single and still very cute, so I sent him the artwork as my shy, awkward, autistic way of flirting. Didn't get much of a response, but I had to shoot my shot.
Could be that my approach was a bit too subtle for him to pick up on, but it's probably for the best that it didn't land. I'm a weird little mutant, and I think being single is safer for the world at large.
Anywhosies, here is my failed attempt at initiating deeper human contact:

Lyrics:
I'd like to be
Under the sea
In an octopus's garden
In the shade
He'd let us in
Knows where we've been
In his octopus's garden
In the shade
I'd ask my friends to come and see
An octopus's garden with me
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden
In the shade
We would be warm below the storm
In our little hideaway beneath the waves
Resting our head on the seabed
In an octopus's garden near a cave
We would sing and dance around
Because we know, we can't be found
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden
In the shade
Great
Great
Great that
Beautiful
Sensational
Fab
Isn't that great?
We would shout and swim about
The coral that lies beneath the waves (lies beneath the ocean waves)
Oh, what joy for every girl and boy
Knowing they're happy, and they're safe (happy, and they're safe)
We would be so happy, you and me
No one there to tell us what to do
I'd like to be under the sea
In an octopus's garden with you
In an octopus's garden with you
In an octopus's garden with you
